What We Do and Where?

Saturday Services Chalkboard

The basic purpose of the Church of Bracketology is to create a fun congregation of diverse college hoops fans from all walks (not travels) of life.  We come from many denominations, wore many colors, and called many different chants.  We meet forat a bar  ’services’ on Saturdays during the season, and various other rival rituals (UNC/Duke, Kentucky/Louisville, UConn/Cuse, etc.) as well as Judgment Day (Selection Sunday), Confirmation (NBA Draft), Bracketology New Years (Midnight Madness – if that is the start of the season, then it must be our new years!) and many more events to come.

We don’t have a proper hymnal, but we do sing “One Shining Moment” when played, and on a good day, you may even hear some J.J. Reddick poetry, interpreted in many different fashions.

The Flagship Congregation – New York City

The NYC Congregation meets up regularly at our temple Professor Thoms in NYC’s East Village (2nd Ave between 13/14th sts.)

Just think, when was the last time you went to a bar for church?  I always prefer a sports, beer and camaraderie over ‘normal’ services.

All posted events are open to anyone who wishes to attend.  Please check the calendar for game and meet up schedules! You can’t miss us at the bar, we are loud, goofy and always wearing school colors (usually with homemade shirts – but that is another story!)

Professor Thoms also has our official Holy Water on tap, “The Church of Bracketology Hardwood Lager” a smooth amber lager which is always on special during Saturday Services and special events.  Stay tuned for more information.
